French EPR Law (AGEC): Since 2022, producers placing regulated products on the French market must comply with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR).

What is UIN?

A UIN (Unique Identification Number) is your official ID for French EPR.

• It shows you are registered with the right French PRO.

• You need one UIN per product category (e.g., packaging, batteries, WEEE).

• It’s used for reporting and compliance with French EPR rules.

Who is a “Producer” in French EPR?

A Producer is any company that places products on the French market, including:

• Importers — companies that bring products from outside France.

• Electrical & Electronic Equipment (EEE) – household electronics, lamps, fire extinguishers, solar panels, etc.

• Batteries – portable, automotive, and industrial batteries.

• Packaging & Printed Paper – shipping boxes, tape, labels, manuals, gift cards, wallpaper, advertising inserts.

• Food Packaging – for household and catering professionals.

• Furniture – household and professional furniture.

• Textiles – clothing, household linen, and shoes.

• Tires – automotive, agricultural, and heavy-duty tires.

• Chemicals – glue, paint, polish, acetone, petroleum jelly, resins, etc.
